Master sculpture Sebastien Cohendet will be in front of the tourist office in Les Gets on Fridays (the 23 & 30 Dec plus every Friday in Feb) to show off his ice sculpting skills. Les Gets Activities

Mountain Fun!

Apart from the usual sporty things to do in Les Gets, we love these more countryfied activities that give you an insight into life in the mountains as it used to be before ski lifts…

Geneva Les Gets* Discover the Les Gets Pottery and see how Anouk and Nathalie work together to create cute and funky designs inspired by the mountains and farming. And every Monday in summer, budding potters from the age of six can have a go at working the clay on that wheel

Les Gets transfers from geneva* Visit the Museum of Mechanical Music. This brilliantly eccentric museum houses over 550 exhibits from full size church organs and a fairground carousel to musical boxes. And don't forget the biennial Mechanical Music festival which attracts thousands of visitors from far and wide. The next one is July 2016

Geneva Airport Les Gets* Enter the world of cheese at the Fruitiere des Perrieres, a gorgeous traditional farmhouse where you can see how the cheese is made, then buy some in the on-site shop and eat some in the renowned restaurants in the vaulted caves under the farm. Truly magical

Les Gets Geneva* Go goat milking in the fields where the animals graze in the summer sunshine up by the Lac des Ecoles - it's an easy 20 minte walk to get there. Kids absolutely love this activity courtesy of Caroline's farm and every Tuesday is tasting night back at the farm from 18:30

Les Gets Geneva transfers* Calling all apprentice farmers - the Ferme de La Sarre opens its doors to children to help with all the duties including feeding the rabbits, making cheese and looking after the pigs and lambs. A brilliant day out for the kids at this farm near the Mont-Chery lift

Les Gets Destination Guide

Fun in Les Gets!

Sandwiched between the market town of Taninges on the valley floor on one side and the Vallee d'Aulps down to Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) on the other side, Les Gets is a great choice for a mountain holiday all year round. Here's what we know and love about Les Gets...

Geneva to Les Gets

Les Gets is by no means a purpose-built resort. In fact, it was first mentioned in the Aulps Abbey charter way back in 1135 and has a long tradition in agricultural and wood-based activities, evidence of which can still be seen and experienced today.

Lets Gets Transfers

Somehow this village has managed to create a lovely harmony and balance between being atourist resort and keeping those working traditions alive, hence why Les Gets is an excellent choice for families and proudly displays the 'Famille Plus Montagne' label, meaning the welcome, facilities and activities are particularly geared towards younger guests.

Lets Gets Airport TransfersThat's not to say adults and groups of friends won't have fun in Les Gets. The resort has three distinct sectors: Chavannes and Charniaz on one side and Mont-Chery on the other. It's true to say it might not be the most gnarly skiing here, but it is great for building confidence and you can easily access more challenging terrain in neighbouring Morzine and Avoriaz.

Lets Gets TransferBeginners and kids will absolutely love it. The centre of the village is all based around the snow front with nursery slopes, ski school, market place, shops, bars and restaurant all clustered around this bustling area. 'Les Mappys' is a dedicated learning zone accessible directly from the Chavannes gondola, with magic carpet and mini drag lifts that is completely free - perfect for little ones who manage 20 minutes on the slopes before wanting to head off for a hot chocolate.

Geneva Lets Gets TransfersIn summer it's a whole different ball game here. Extreme sports enthusiasts will love it, with some of the trickiest terrain from mountain bikers to be found off the Mont-Chery lift - we defy you not be just a little bit scared of the 'Gets Airline'. And check out the 'Pumptrack' in the village centre - a sort of velodrome for mountain bikes with crazy banked corners!

Geneva Lets Gets TransferOf course, if you just want to chill and enjoy the mountain lifestyle and scenery, there's everything you need to do just that in winter and summer, with the Lac des Ecoles, golf course and a good choice of cafes, bars and restaurants to hang out in. Tuck into classic mountain food at La R'Mize in the old town, look out for live music at the Bar Barbylone, have a full English at the Alba Cafe and watch the footy (along with all the seasonaires in Les Gets!) at JCs Sports Bar.
