Megève Market
Megève Market: Local Flavours and Alpine Traditions Every Friday
The Megève Market is a weekly highlight for residents and visitors alike. Taking place every Friday morning from 08:00 to 13:00 at Place du Marché in the centre of the village, the market captures the essence of Savoyard living with its mix of local produce, crafts and friendly atmosphere.
You’ll find stalls piled high with farmhouse cheeses, cured meats, honey, jams, fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, handmade soaps, flowers and seasonal treats. The scent of rotisserie chicken and alpine herbs fills the air as shoppers wander between colourful awnings, chatting with producers and discovering authentic regional flavours. Many of the stallholders come from the surrounding valleys, bringing with them the very best of Haute-Savoie produce.
The market is also a social occasion. Locals gather for a morning coffee on the terrace while visitors pick up picnic supplies or gifts to take home. Whether you’re staying for a weekend or a longer holiday, it’s a simple and enjoyable way to experience the rhythm of village life beneath the peaks of Mont Blanc.
The market runs throughout the year, with the busiest times during the winter ski season and the summer months when the streets are alive with both locals and holidaymakers. For details and seasonal highlights, visit the official tourism page: Megève Market – official website.
