Saint Gervais Torchlight Descents 2026

Torchlight Descents in Saint Gervais – Magic on the Slopes of Le Bettex & Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce

The torchlight descents at Saint Gervais Mont-Blanc bring a little alpine enchantment to the evening. At the Le Bettex sector, the descent by the staff of the local ski school takes place on Thursday evenings during the February holiday period and starts around 17:30. At Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, a sister descent by the ESF ski school takes place on Wednesday evenings at 19:00. This tradition invites everyone to watch as torch-bearers wind their way down the snow-lit slopes, leaving glowing trails beneath the peaks.

Arrive a little early to enjoy the atmosphere: hot drinks at the base, music in the air, and the chance to witness a mountain village’s winter magic in motion. Children’s torchlight events and DJ sets often feature as part of the festivities, and the spectacle is set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Mont Blanc massif.
