Geneva to St Martin-de-Belleville Transfer
St Martin-de-Belleville and surrounding villages are steeped in Alpine charm, yet with direct access to the immense Three Valleys ski area via their own lifts. Perfect for a quiet family ski holiday in a chalet!
The quiet charm of St Martin-de-Belleville
If you’re looking for fantastic skiing and relaxed evenings, the delightful village of St Martin-de-Belleville is for you. It’s the first village in the Belleville valley that leads to Les Menuires and ultimately Val Thorens and St Martin sits at 1450m, so it’s still pretty snowsure.
Of course, tourism has come to this traditional farming village, but the soul of the place has not been lost. Small and friendly, with just enough to keep you entertained off the slopes, it’s a very valid option for a slower-paced ski holiday in the Three Valleys.
St Martin de Belleville has a lot of standalone holiday chalets that always prove popular with groups of friends and families who want to ski together – and a lot more reasonably-priced than Meribel in the neighbouring valley!
The Belleville valley villages and skiing
St Martin-de-Belleville is the largest of the villages and boasts the St Martin gondola and St Martin Express chair to whisk you up to Tourgnete, where you can drop directly into Meribel or head across to Les Menuires.
The home run, which is a cruisey blue/black has snow cannons, so you should be able to ski back to St Martin most of the season.
Saint Marcel is the next hamlet up from St Martin-de-Belleville, around 1km along the road. It’s very picturesque and quiet, on the banks of the Doron river, but there are no lifts from here. The same goes for Les Granges and Paranger, the next villages on the route.
You then come to Le Bettex at 1568m, which does have its own, modern four-seater chairlift to whisk you to the Roc side of Les Menuires in just seven minutes!
It’s worth noting that free shuttle buses run from St Martin-de-Belleville to Les Menuires and Val Thorens via all the little villages.
Getting your ski legs in St Martin-de-Belleville
Intermediate and advanced skiers will be in heaven whizzing around all the 600km+ of slopes the Three Valleys boasts. Just make sure you get the full lift pass to make the most of absolutely everywhere!
Blue run lovers should head to the Granges chair, with the Grand Lac run great for building confidence. Once warmed up, head down the adjacent Jerusalem piste and feel like a champion!
