Find great food, fast in Chamonix

Sometimes all you want is some great food fast. Here’s our roundup of the best places around Chamonix to pick up tasty food quickly.

Our Favourite Fast Food in Chamonix

Blue Bird Café – nestled in Chamonix Sud, this is as close to a greasy spoon as you can get outside of the UK. Although, that doesn’t really do justice to a great range of breakfast and lunch options available. Veggies, vegans and meat-eaters are all catered for with choices from classic fry ups to breakfast burritos. They’ve also recently added evening service with a single dish available each day and word on the street is it’s delicious!

Cool Cats – nestled near the river on Rue du Moulins, this artisanal hot dog outfit has taken the town by storm. Street food-inspired, they’ve focused on locally sourced, seasonal and homemade products. What’s more, there are options to suit carnivores, vegetarians and vegans alike. Just pick your topping, sausage and base layer and away you go.

Elevation – a favoured hang out amongst locals and visitors alike, Elevation 1894 can be found opposite Chamonix train station. It’s a year-round favourite and in the summer the outdoor seating quadruples its capacity. In the winter, it’s a cosy place for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. Breakfast includes classics like bacon rolls and a full English and lunch is a great mix of salads, burgers, sandwiches and great chips! You can explore the menu here.

Little Boxes – a great offering of pizzas, burgers and salads available to eat in or take-away. Opposite the central bus station on the edge of Chamonix Sud. The outside seating area keeps the sun the longest of almost anywhere in town, making it a great stop for a summer Apero too.

Midnight Express – it may be open all day, but the clue is in the name for this valley favourite. Post skiing, after Apres, post-party, there’s always Midnight Express. Open until 2am with a selection of the kind of food you want to grab and go – drinks, sandwiches, burgers and fries on offer.

Poco Loco – a Chamonix institution that’s been serving big burgers and frites for nearly two decades. You can choose to eat in or take-away from a long list of burgers or a selection of savoury and sweet crepes

Thai to Go – one of our new kids on the block but quickly establishing itself as a favourite. Generous portions of freshly cooked classics like spring rolls, green curry and more.
