Megève Christmas Village: Festive Magic in the Heart of the Alps

The Christmas Village in Megève brings the enchantment of the season to life from 22 December to 2 January on the Esplanade de la Patinoire (33 Rue d’Oberstdorf). Visitors can drop in to see Santa’s office, where children can hand in their letters and have their photo taken with Father Christmas, enjoy creative workshops, and wander through festive lights and lanterns set against the alpine backdrop.

It’s a charming scene: artisan stalls, hot chocolate, gentle snow falls and the cobbled streets of Megève quietly buzzing with seasonal atmosphere. On 24 December a parade with Santa’s sleigh departs at 17:30 from the village square, adding a memorable moment to the holiday week.

The village is ideal for a leisurely daytime visit or an evening stroll after dusk when lights reflect on fresh snow and the peaks are silhouettes against the sky.
