Destination Guide: Geneva
Home of the United Nations, Geneva is a modern cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural history dating back over 4,000 years.
Situated on the bank of its beautiful lake itself situated at the foot of the alps, the old town hides many jewels including over 30 museums and galleries, plus numerous cafes, restaurants, and luxury shops.
Over 40% of the population of Geneva come from other countries, making Geneva one of the most international cities in the world. There are three official languages in Switzerland: French, German, and Italian, and of course many people speak English - especially amongst the foreign population and in the tourist areas.
The city is geographically quite small, making it ideal to explore on foot, and there are many beautiful parks in which to relax after taking in the sites of the city.
At any time during the year there are many excellent cultural and sporting events happening in Geneva with top-class theatre and concerts, plus some large annual events such as the Geneva Motor Show and the Geneva marathon (both in spring), and the Geneva festival during the summer).
Sites about Geneva:

The whole complex is relatively small in comparison with other international airports, so getting around is quick and easy on foot. Currently the airport complex is undergoing renovations to make it more user friendly, and among the changes that are already available are an outdoor terrace where you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the airport terminals, as well as more restaurants, bars, and cafe areas.
Be aware that you need a coin (2 chf or 2 euros) to operate luggage trolleys.
